A Google-Perrspectives Truce
August 25, 2004
For those who have been following the controversy created by Google's ban on advertising from Perrspectives, a Najaf-like truce of sorts has been reached. On July 23, Google reversed course and upon further review concluded that Perrspectives did not violate its guidelines on advocacy speech. Unfortunately for all involved, however, Google did not change its dangerously broad "language that advocates against" standard as we proposed. For that reason, Perrspectives for now will not resume its ads on Google - this time by choice.
