The Deer Hunter, 2004 Edition

November 22, 2004

In the latest installment of the Red State Pathology Report, we bring you this bit of psychosis from Wisconsin. Apparently, five people were killed and three wounded in a shootout over the use of a deer hunting platform.
The Sawyer County Chief Deputy Tim Zeigle summed up the episode, "it's absolutely nuts." The bizarre massacre does seem inexplicable to most. But to many of the "God, Guns and Gays" denizens of Red America, there could be a simple explanation. The victims were probably gay atheists seeking to marry clandestinely in the idyllic woods of Wisconsin, an obvious affront to God and the NRA.
Remember, guns don't kill people. But they sure help.

  1. If no one took a shot at the Hmong first, I'll eat my cheesehat. See the last quote of the article. We'll be hearing much more about what provoked this, in the future. Having some familiarity with the attitudes in that 'neck of the woods', (sorry), this is threaded thoughout the real story. Thanks for bringing it to light.

  2. Blogging is the next generation of the Internet. If you've got something to say that interests somebody else, by golly, then there you have it! It's not about search engine rank or advertising, either. It's about word-of-mouse, and presentation. More here
